i run nedxnancy.tumblr.com for my daily fix of nancy/ned action. i love: nancy drew, law & order criminal intent, the fall, dark city, mad men, arrested development, archer, community, justified, lois & clark, star trek, perry mason, jane eyre, eddie izzard, terry pratchett, addams family, apple, bertha cool & donald lam, MST3K, interpol, my morning jacket, st vincent, playmobil, diana gabaldon's cracktastic outlander series, raymond chandler, cillian murphy, wodehouse; alias, chuck, carnivale, pushing daisies, the adventures of pete & pete, tomorrow people (new series), veronica mars, legend of the seeker/the sword of truth, lost, x-files.

so i hate gilligan’s island so much that when it comes on for an hour after m*a*s*h is over, i turn on netflix and watch something else until it’s done, and my blood pressure is so much lower now. it’s lovely.

okay so

i got rid of cable because i wasn’t watching it and i switched to netflix and so now i ignore that for $9 a month instead of ignoring cable for a hell of a lot more a month

but the things i miss are

  • chopped, because YES
  • reruns of tripping out with alie and georgia
  • SNAPPED MARATHONS ON SUNDAYS ON OXYGEN
  • turner classic movies
  • not being able to find pirates of the caribbean 2 or 3 or the entire lord of the rings trilogy or a bunch of harry potter movies playing on cable somewhere 24 hours a day like damn
  • law & order reruns

and i would be 50% less irritated if the wii supported autoplay because ugh having to manually start the next show is so boring and forever taking

(but archer is on there so WOOOOOOOOOOOO)

things which are awesome and on netflix:

  • STAR TREK THE NEXT GENERATION BITCHES, ALL SEVEN THOUSAND EPISODES
  • x-files (although i cannot watch it after dark because reasons)
  • thousands of miss marple and hercule poirot episodes (well less than that but shut up)
  • a billion british drama miniserials
  • ARCHER
  • arrested development
  • mad men
  • 30 rock
  • parks and recreation
  • eddie izzard shows
  • A BUNCH OF MARVEL MOVIES YESSSSSS
  • a (sadly small) number of mst3k episodes
  • more things i can’t remember right now because damian lewis is being an asshole while wearing some epic suiting
The X-Files “Pilot” premiered 20 years ago today on September 10, 1993. It was viewed by 7.4 million households and 12.0 million viewers.
